Political newcomer and Florida House hopeful Berny Jacques picked up another endorsement for Florida’s 66th House District on Monday.
Seminole City Council Member Thom Barnhorn gave Jacques his seal of approval, calling the young attorney the best choice to represent Pinellas County in the Florida House.
“Berny walks the walk and will get the job done for Pinellas,” said Barnhorn. “Berny’s career has afforded him a knowledge of what we need to keep our residents safe, something that is sorely missing in Tallahassee. Personally I usually avoid giving an endorsement until after the primary, but I am proud to announce that Berny has earned my endorsement and I say vote for Berny.”
Jacques and Pinellas County Republican Executive Committee chair Nick DiCeglie have both declared their candidacies for the HD66 seat, running to replace Rep. Larry Ahern, who faces term limits.
“I am very grateful to have the endorsement of Councilor Barnhorn,” Jacques said of the endorsement. “He is someone who has always encouraged my community work and it’s humbling that he would encourage others to support my campaign for State Representative. I won’t let him or the voters down.”
