LARGO (FLV) – The Pinellas County Republican Party Straw Poll showed Berny Jacques overwhelmingly leading in the Republican primary for state representative in the House District 59 race.
Jacques received 64% of the vote, Dipak Nadkarni with 15% and Jennifer Wilson garnering 12% of the vote.
“To win the support of the grassroots republicans who make up the Pinellas GOP is a honor and shows the momentum our campaign has going into election day,” Jacques said.
“This group knows a true conservative when they see it and I am proud to have earned so many of their votes in the straw poll. I am a pro-life, pro- family, and pro-Constitution conservative who will always fight for our community.”
Jacques served as an Assistant State Attorney for Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit. He is currently the Senior Director of Partnerships at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay. Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2020 appointed Jacques to the Sixth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.
U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds has endorsed Jacques.
Jacques holds a B.A. in History and Political Studies from Washington Adventist University, and a law degree from Stetson University College of Law.
