Florida’s largest police union backs Rep. Berny Jacques for reelection

SEMINOLE, Fla. — The Florida Police Benevolent Association has endorsed state Rep. Berny Jacques for reelection to Florida House District 59, citing his commitment to public safety and support for law enforcement officers.

In a July 30 letter, Florida PBA President John Kazanjian said the union, which represents 31,000 law enforcement members and describes itself as Florida’s largest law enforcement union, has worked with Jacques on public safety initiatives during his time in the Legislature.

“Because of your proven track record, tenacity, and commitment to public safety, we know that you will be a vigorous advocate for protecting and defending the rights of law enforcement officers in Florida,” Kazanjian wrote.

The letter also praised Jacques’ public service and conservative values and expressed confidence that he would support higher wages and benefits to help law enforcement agencies recruit officers and address staffing shortages statewide.

Jacques welcomed the endorsement and pledged continued support for law enforcement.

“Proud to be endorsed by Florida’s largest police union! I will always back our law enforcement heroes,” Jacques said in a post on X on Oct. 5.
