Berny holds a B.A. in History and Political Studies from Washington Adventist University, and a law degree from Stetson University College of Law. Professionally, he served as an Assistant State Attorney at the Pinellas County State Attorney’s Office and worked in private practice as a civil litigation attorney. In 2016 he was listed as a “Legal Elite” in the area of Government and Non-Profit by Florida Trend’s Magazine and was recognized as a Florida “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2018. He’s currently the Senior Partnerships Director at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay. He also worked in the media as the Republican Political Analyst for Spectrum Bay News 9.
In 2020 Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Berny to the Sixth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission and Sheriff Bob Gualtieri appointed him to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Civil Service Board. Politically, he served as the Vice Chairman of the Florida Federation of Young Republicans. He resides in Seminole, FL where he serves on the city’s Developmental Review Board and was Vice Chairman of the city’s Charter Review Committee in 2019. Berny is a pro-life Christian, a member of the NRA, and a fierce defender of our Constitutional rights!
