Pinellas commissioner endorses Berny Jacques for re-election to Florida House

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida state Rep. Berny Jacques has received the endorsement of Pinellas County Commissioner Brian Scott as he seeks another term in the Florida House.

Scott announced his support for Jacques, praising the Republican lawmaker’s record on issues including public safety, taxpayer accountability, constitutional rights and economic growth.

“Since taking office, Berny has been a strong, principled leader who has consistently fought to protect our freedoms, strengthen our economy, and deliver results for the people of Pinellas County and the state of Florida,” Scott said in a statement posted on X.

Scott said Jacques has earned a reputation as a leader who listens to constituents, works through difficult issues, and follows through on his commitments.

“His proven leadership, conservative values, and unwavering commitment to public service make him the right choice to continue representing us in Tallahassee,” Scott said.

Jacques, a Republican who represents parts of Pinellas County, was first elected to the Florida House in 2020. He thanked Scott for the endorsement, writing on X, “Honored to have the endorsement of Commissioner Scott!”

The endorsement comes as Jacques seeks reelection ahead of the 2026 election cycle.
