Seminole Professional Firefighters Association backs Berny Jacques

The former prosecutor and conservative analyst for Bay News 9 is running to replace Nick DiCeglie in the Florida House.

The Seminole Professional Firefighters Association (IAFF Local 2896) has announced its endorsement of Republican candidate Berny Jacques for House District 66. 

In announcing its endorsement, the group cited Jacques’ commitment to “guarding our liberties and working hard for a strong economy,” among his other campaign platforms.

Berny Jacques continues to lead fundraising with $80K cash on hand

Jacques faces Alen Tomczak and Jennifer Wilson in the race for HD 66.

St. Petersburg Republican Alen Tomczak led August fundraising reports in the race to succeed Rep. Nick DiCeglie for House District 66, with Seminole Republican Berny Jacques still leading in overall fundraising.

Jacques, a former prosecutor and former conservative analyst for Bay News 9, raised $7,425 in August, according to his most recent campaign finance report. Jacques’ affiliated political committee, Florida Values Coalition, did not report any fundraising or expenditures for the past month.

Berny Jacques leads June fundraising, brings in $13K

Jacques faces St. Petersburg Republican Alen Tomczak.

Seminole Republican Berny Jacques led June’s fundraising reports in the race to succeed Rep. Nick DiCeglie for House District 66.

Jacques, a former prosecutor and former conservative analyst for Bay News 9, reported $13,185 raised in June for his campaign. Jacques’ associated political committee, Florida Values Coalition, did not report any fundraising or expenditures for the past month.

St. Petersburg Republican Alen Tomczak, who entered the race in early March, trailed Jacques in June, raising $4,860.

Larry Ahern backs Berny Jacques

Jacques is a former prosecutor and former conservative analyst for Bay News 9.

Former Rep. Larry Ahern has endorsed House District 66 candidate Berny Jacques in his bid to succeed Rep. Nick DiCeglie. 

Ahern credits his endorsement to Jacques’ conservative values — during his time in the House, Ahern was recognized as arguably the most conservative lawmaker in the Pinellas legislative delegation and an early Trump supporter.

“Berny Jacques is a true conservative who shares our values on the sanctity of life, a limited government and our country’s cherished freedoms,” Ahern said in a statement.
